Alpha Design is a small Berkeley furniture store where every commission is drawn, considered, and perfected under one roof. No production line, no catalog compromises — just furniture built to live with a particular room, and a particular life, for a very long time.
The Designer
A craft learned at the bench, not the screen.
Hans Reinhardt founded Alpha Design Custom Furniture after years spent learning the trade. What began as a handful of private commissions grew into a full studio, but the working method never changed: understand the client's room, choose the design, and let the quality speak for itself.
Every sofa, sectional, and chair that leaves the shop is drawn in conversation with the person who'll use it. Style is matched, proportions are tuned to the space, and everything is built to last. The result is furniture with a quiet confidence — pieces that feel inevitable in a room rather than added to it.
When not at the bench, Hans can be found on the ski slopes.
